glass block lamps
lamps made together with a former colleague as christmas presents for friends and family. the lamps are made from used glass blocks i found at a recycling center. the paint and cement was cleaned from the blocks. lamp bases were cnc-cut from fir plywood, and warm white dotstar led-strips paired with an esp8266 microcontroller were used as the light source. using the controller we were able to create subtle variation in the light. this slight movement in together with the pattern of the glass' blocks surface resulted in a really interesting light display on the surrounding walls and surfaces.
